Who We Serve

The individuals served by New Jersey MENTOR have a variety of needs, all of which are met within the communities where they live, work and play. Because each person’s needs and preferences are different – and often change over time – we provide a full range of community-based residential and non-residential supports.  New Jersey MENTOR offers programs to a growing number of individuals, including:

Adults and Children with Disabilities: People who have developmental disabilities are offered a variety of residential service options, including host-home or  group-home living and in-home support services, as well as Structured Day Program services.   Programs  range in intensity and setting according to the needs of the individual  and can be adapted to provide an on-going appropriate level of care.

Children and Adolescents:  We care for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in private, family homes which provide therapeutic foster care.  We offer several programs that address the needs of different populations including abused and neglected children and children in need of emergency placement.  We also provide group home living for children and adolescents with high-risk behaviors.  Our group home living program is tailored to the specific needs of the child and incorporates the management of behaviors, that impeded the youth from making healthy attachments, into the treatment approach.

People with Brain Injury:
We also offer a continuum of post-acute rehabilitation programs for individuals with brain injury and other neurological challenges through NeuroRestorative, our partner organization.  To learn more about our brain injury services in New Jersey visit NeuroRestorative.com.
